Part 1
The first volume opens with new transfer student Makoto's arrival into the Drama Club. Everyone quickly notices how pretty she is and the girls of the class immediately attack her with questions ("How come your skin is so white?" "Is that you're real hair?" etc! ^_^;). Needless to say, Makoto's a little suffocated by all these questions and Ito notices and rescues her by telling everyone she'll show Makoto around. First, Ito shows Mako the girl's locker room. Mako thanks her for saving her before. Ito apologizes for the girls' behavior and as they are talking, Ito begins to undress. Mako is VERY shocked to find out that Ito is actually a girl (she's all blushing and stuff). Ito laughs and tells Mako that she (Ito) is definitely a girl, and that she is like the leader of the girls in the class, and will help Mako in all she can. Mako, who is still blushing, asks Ito to please put some clothes on (Ito looks really funny in this picture, with half her clothes off ^_^;) Ito puts her shirt over her head without pulling it down and asks Mako if she'll pay her 100 yen if she runs around like that. Mako finds that funny and starts giggling, and Ito is happy that Mako seems to be more at ease now.

Some time passes and Ito and Makoto became good friends because they thought alike and were alike in many ways (they both didn't understand why girls were such "fangirl" and stuff, and neither of them followed fashion trends and such). Ito comments in her mind that Mako is a really good actress. Everyone else in the Drama club agrees that Mako is really good and that the play will be a success if Mako plays Juliet. Suddenly, another voice is heard. It's Tsugumi, an upperclasswoman of Ito and Mako's, who comments on how pathetic it is that everyone is "sucking up" to Mako. She agrees that Mako is a good actress, but adds that Mako'll never be as good as her. Then the teacher scolds Tsugumi for being late to club again ^_^; Ito asks if Tsugumi will be in the play, and the teacher says that Tsugumi will be, and tells Ito she has to play Romeo. Ito has a problem with this, cause she's always cast as a guy. The teacher answers that it's because Ito makes a really handsome guy (Ito's like "I wanna get outta here, man"!) Tsugumi is really happy about Ito being Romeo, but Ito is still nonsatisfied with it.

Later that day, Ito waits outside for Mako. She comments on how Mako had an accident as a child and got a scar on her back, so she always changes alone. Then Mako comes out and they go over to Ito's house. When they get there, Ito's younger brother, Tatsuyoshi, greets them. He's shocked that Ito brought a girl over and asks if she's her girlfriend ^_^; Ito gets mad and they start to fight and stuff. Then Ito and Mako keep walking inside the house (or temple or something, cause Ito's dad runs a martial arts school, as does Mako's dad), where they run into Ito's two older brothers (who're twins and really cute! ^_^;), Tatsuya and Yuuto. They comment on how Ito hasn't brought a girl over in a really long time. Tatsuya, who was spraying something with a hose, accidentally sprays both Mako and Ito with water. They, too, tease Ito about Mako being her girl, and Ito gets annoyed again. Mako comments on how all of Ito's siblings are boys. Ito apologizes to Mako for her brother's carelessness and tells her to come in and take a bath (take a bath after she got sprayed on with water? o.o I was confuuused), and then she can change into other clothes. Then Ito remembers she forgot to give Mako a change of clothes, and she goes back to give them to her. When she opens the door, she finds...

A blond guy, with short hair, with his shirt mostly off. A blond guy who looks just like Mako! Ito screams reaaally loud and all of her brothers start running to where she is. She starts throwing stuff at them telling them not to come in. Then Ito looks at Mako and asks "So, what kind of wound do you have on your back?" and then "Who are you?!" ^_^; Mako is just like "Oh, crap..."

Elsewhere, Tsugumi and her posse of dudes are scheming against Mako. Tsugumi is all mad because she wanted to have a love scene with Ito, and is jealous of all the time Mako and Ito spend together. She starts to wonder why Mako had to transfer schools and such.

Back in Ito's room, Mako is now wearing a shirt, and his wig is next to him on the floor. Ito says that he looks like a guy like this. Ito then asks why Mako is going around dressed as a girl. Mako explains that he wants to be an actor, but his father didn't want to let him. Finally, his father said he could be an actor if he managed to spend the rest of his high school life as a girl. His father said if Mako was a truly good actor, he would be able to pull it off, and then his father would allow him to become an actor. But if even one person found out, Mako has to go back home and take over his father's martial arts school instead. This was Mako's dad's way to humiliate him and break him down (cause I'm sure most boys have a problem with having to crossdress for the next 2 years ^_^;) Mako says that he agreed to do it for his freedom, and that he'll do anything for his freedom (he looks reaaaally cute in this scene ^_^;). Ito also agrees with me on this, for she blushes and her heart starts beating fastly because he looked like a guy just then. Mako comments tha now Ito knows, and is dejected, for this was not supposed to happen. But Ito says that she shall cooperate! She shan't tell! She shall help! It'll be easier for him if he has a partner who understands the situation, right? And she's also curious about Makoto and wants to learn more about him.

After this, Mako and Ito became closer friends cause they shared this secret (ooooh!). And at school, Mako and Ito learn that Mako's playing Juliet in the play (hee! ^_^;). The teacher says it's cause Ito and Mako work well together, and Ito thinks about how good things continue to happen, and she hopes it just goes on with no badness like this until graduation (poor Ito...she knew not what lay ahead).

Returning to Tsugumi and her posse, Tsugumi is all mad because Makoto got chosen to be Juliet during Tsugumi's absence (one of her posse members comments that it's cause Tsugumi is always late and stuff). Then the posse member tells Tsugumi about what he's found out about Makoto. Tsugumi says she doesn't need that junk no more, and the posse member is understandingly po'd, for she was the one who asked for it. The posse guy decides to tell Tsugumi whether she likes it or not, and proceeds to inform her about how his friend who goes to Makoto's old school said that there was no student there by the name of Amano Makoto. The only student who transferred from there was someone named Narita Makoto, and it was a guy. To top it off, no one knows where this Narita Makoto went to, but his info is similar to Mako's (he's blond, the same height, etc.). Tsugumi is understandingly freaked.

Back at the play rehearsal, Ito is saying her lines as Romeo, when she stops, realizing that Romeo is a pervert (she's all embarrassed and asks if she still has to say those funky lines). Mako just giggles. Ito then thinks about how odd she's been lately, and she wonders why she likes a guy who's prettier and more feminine than her. She starts freaking out, wondering if she's a pervert cause even though he's a guy, he looks like a girl and she likes him and yeaaah! ^_^; Mako cutely and cluelessly thinks she's worried about the kissing scene and stuff like that, and he comforts her telling her it's just acting. He looks at her with a lil smile (oooh, Mako is bad!). Mako then tells Ito that he wants to invite his parents to the play, cause then his dad will have to recognize his acting skills and stuff. He says he feels like he can do anything, if Ito's there (aaww!). It's 2 weeks until the play! Mako is going to do his best, and Ito thinks about how he has such a big dream in his hands. Mako tries on his costume and he looks pretty as usual, though the top of his costume is a lil tight cause Ito was the model for it. The teacher comments that it's cause Ito's chest is smaller (though that wasn't what Mako meant ^_^;), and Ito shows up to defend her chest's honor...wearing her Romeo costume. The teacher is all happied with how Ito turned out cause she looks like a cute guy, but Ito is annoyed cause the teacher keeps calling her "Ito-kun". Ito also says she's not going to wear make-up. Some of the crew members wonder what happened to Tsugumi, though they're glad that Mako got to be Juliet (this panel is cute cause the actors for Tibalt and Mercutio are introducing themselves to Mako and underneath all of them it says "Actors for all the characters who die" Ahahaha!). Ito ponders on how easily Tsugumi gave up.

But Tsugumi has not given up! She has her posse busy making costumes for her (apparently the one with the light hair is her cousin, and the other one is in love with her, which is why they put up with all of this). She tells them to hurry up cause she needs them by that day.

Meanwhile, at Mako's house, his dad has received a letter Mako sent him inviting him to see the play. He asks Akane what kind of play Romeo and Juliet is, and Akane explains. She tells him that at the end, the two families make peace, and it'd be nice if him and Mako made peace too. The dad just goes "Hmph!" and says no more.

And theeen...it's the day of the play! As someone tests the mic, the teacher gives final directions on stuff like lighting and such. She tells Ito and Mako to go do their make-up cause they only have 40 minutes until the play starts. As they run to the make-up room, they pass many people who go "Oooh!" and "What a beauty! It's Juliet!" and "Miura-senpaaai, you're so handsooome!" and "Makoto!". But this person who said "Makoto" is not one of their fangirls/boys. It's none other than Akane, who was free that day and has come to see the play with Mako's dad. Ito thinks about how they look so alike. She decides to let Mako and his sis talk alone, and goes on ahead. But in going on ahead, Ito overhears Tsugumi's plans...which are to kidnap Mako, play Juliet herself, and then find out Mako's true gender. Ito's shocked and wonders if Tsugumi knows.

While this goes on, Mako and Akane are still talking, and Akane comments on how stubborn Mako and their dad is. Mako says he can't allow what his dad wants, and Akane says that while his face is like their mom's, his personality is like their dad's (and Mako says "Stoppit, man"). Akane says that it's ok, and that Mako should do his best, cause the sisters are still at home, and if it's necessary, Akane shall get herself a good husband to take over the family, and Mako is thankful for this. And so, Mako goes off to get his make-up done, and Ito is already there. Ito comments that perhaps Tsugumi has already realized the truth about Mako. She tells Mako that she overheard Tsugumi saying that she plans to blow Mako's cover and steal Mako's Julietness. Mako is all shocked and confused, but Ito is a take-charge kind of gal, and so, as she disses Tsugumi and her lackeys, she starts looking through a prop box for...SOMETHING. And then she finds it! And she gives it to Mako to wear.

Meanwhile, Tsugumi's lackeys are outside waiting for Mako, and they finally see him come out of the make-up roomplace. Tsugumi has already changed into another Juliet costume and is all ready to take over the role. And so, Tsugumi's lackeys chase after Makoto as Tsugumi thinks to herself that she'll go to Ito and say "Amano Makoto ain't coming. I shall play Juliet now." Tsugumi's lackeys catch Makoto and apologize for what they are doing, saying they don't wanna do this, but there's a person that asked them to. Makoto asks if that person is Nomura Tsugumi, and the lackeys are shocked! They say "That voice...!! So you really ARE a man!!". Makoto does a nifty move, and gets them off! And that is when they realize that...it was not Mako, but Ito (Ahahahaha, it was funny cause Ito's vein popped when they said that the voice sounded like a man's ^_^;)! Ito says that they should be thankful that she went easy on them and that they should stop doing dumb things like that and such. Then she asks where Tsugumi is.

Well, Tsugumi is off someplace else, all decked out in her Juliet costume, when she runs into the real Makoto and asks what the heck "she's" doing there, cause she just saw her go out (but it was Ito, of course). But she decides to take this opportunity to unmask Makoto and lifts Makoto's shirt up. Makoto "Kyaaa!"s and Tsugumi gets even more annoyed (cause men shouldn't "kyaaa!", you know. It is unmanly). But when Tsugumi takes a look at Makoto's chest she sees...o.o a bra! And breasts?! o.o Oooopssss! Ito appears behind her and assures her that Makoto is a girl. Then she proceeds to tease Tsugumi for pulling up Makoto's shirt, and Tsugumi tries to explain. But Makoto starts one of his best acting performances, and begins to cry, saying how Tsugumi must have thought "she" was a man because she was so tall and all (he even says "I'm going to diiie!" and such. It was funny!). Ito explains that although there was apparently a funky rumor going around about Makoto, she has worked really hard on the play and it'd be mean to not let her play Juliet. She asks Tsugumi to let Makoto do it, and Tsugumi finally gives up and agreens ("If it's a request of Ito-kun's, I can't object"). She tells them to not be late.

But they're already late! The play starts in 3 minutes, so Ito starts to change costumes right there ("KYAAA! Don't change here, Ito-san!" says Makoto, who is embarrassed. Ito insists there's no time for that). As they run to the stage, Ito says how glad she is. Makoto asks why, and Ito explains that now no one will be suspicious of Makoto anymore because Tsugumi saw "her" chest and all (it was a dancer costume that Ito gave Makoto, and it had fake breasts on it). Ito and Makoto finally make it and, after getting yelled at by the teacher for being late, they all start the play. Ito speaks of dreams and how no one shall stop Mako's dream and such as they do their performance. Everyone compliments the performance and comment on how good they are. Makoto's dad, who was watching with Akane, decides to leave. He is po'd because Makoto did good, but he recognizes his talent, and he tells Akane to tell Makoto that.

After the play, the Drama Club is rejoicing cause it was a big success. But now the exit is blocked! But it is for a good reason: the play was such a big success that lots of people are crowding the exit waiting for Mako and Ito to come out. The teacher tells them to use the back door instead. As they go down the stairs, a funky block of wood falls from above and almost hits Ito, but Makoto pulls her back. Ito thinks of how Makoto has the strength of a man. Makoto then quotes some of Ito's lines (I think?) from the play in his "male voice", and Ito tells him to be careful cause someone could hear him. Makoto says that even though he promised to be a girl, he wants to be a normal guy with Ito. Ito thinks of what a vivid feeling this is as they lean closer together in blushingness, and then she thinks of how she wants to be Juliet just for him. She wishes they could stay just like that. And that's the end! Phew!

Part 3
This part starts off with Takayo visiting Mako's dad to ask why he transferred from their old school. She asks him if "it's true" (the whole Mako-is-living-as-a-girl-now deal), and his dad says that, yep, it's true. He says that Mako's a doof for accepting, but Akane points out that it was Mako's dad who set the conditions ("I did? I did! Ahahaha! I did!" says the dad ^_^;). He also says that if Mako's secret is revealed, he's gotta come back. The dad then hands Takayo the reports he's accumulated on Mako (cause he spies on him and stuff. Poor Mako has no privacy, man), and since Mako's entire school schedule is in them reports, Takayo can now stalk him freely (except at his apartment, for that info was taken out of the reports by the ever-so-thoughtful Akane). Takayo then says that this is just not cool with her and she is bringing Mako back, for he is her man (not in those words, but you know what I meaaan).

Meanwhile, at the drama club meeting, Ito and Mako are trying on the latest costumes for the latest play, a comedy version of Sleeping Beauty. Since it's a comedy version, Ito will play the princess this time around, and Mako will play the prince (cause it'll be funny having a manly princess and a girly prince and stuff!). Of course, everyone in the club agrees that Ito looks like a drag queen princess, much to Ito's annoyment. As Takayo spies on them from afar ("Who's that manwoman?!" she says), Mako comments that this is the first time he's seen Ito in a skirt, and that she looks cute in it (Ito blushes, awwww!). Ito then proceeds to give Mako a noogie and say that he shouldn't go being all manly just cause he's dressed like a man, and they fool around playfully until they realize that the rest of the drama club is watching them and mistaking them for lesbians ("You're wrong, man!" says Mako in his mind). Still far away, Takayo spies through binoculars and is po'd that Ito and Mako are so friendly.

Back at the club meeting, Ito has had it and decides she wants to change, and so she goes to do so (with the drama club girls after her saying "Kyaaa! Drive me crazier! *_*"!). As she and Mako walk off to change, they all see a sickly girl (Takayo) with an umbrella looking over. Mako looks like he's seen a ghost, and then Takayo passes out. Everyone wonders if anyone knows this girl and they decided to take her to the clinic. Sickly Takayo has a fever of 37 degrees, and since no one knows her, Takayo is unconscious still, and the teacher has a meeting to go to, Ito gets stuck watching over her until the teacher returns or Takayo regains consciousness. While she waits, Ito ponders on how much smaller and thinner and cuter Takayo is than her. Then she starts messing around with the equipment and weighs and measures herself, only to find out that she's gained 2 centimeters and 2 kilograms. She realizes she is now taller than Mako, who shows up at that very moment and proceeds to tell the tale of The Takayo.

She's a very sickly girl, he says, and Ito realizes that Mako must know her (she, too, thought it was funky that he looked like he'd seen a ghost before). Mako skillfully avoids the question by asking her if she wants to go get a drink since the club meeting is over. Mako then explains that this girl is his...fiancee. Ito is naturally surprised, and Mako explains that his dad just up and decided it when he was 10. He says that Takayo is the daughter of the head of the Iizuka Group. Mako says that although Takayo is a nice girl (HAH! -.-), they don't agree on stuff, such as his love for acting. Takayo is opposed to Mako's becoming an actor and stuff, so Mako says it's best that he doesn't talk to her. But during Mako's whole explanation, Ito has been busy pondering on how Mako never told her and stuff. She then gets jealous and says that Takayo is more minisized and cuter and stuff. Mako says that he doesn't think that at all, but Ito goes on and on and says that him and Takayo make a good couple, but then Mako pulls on her arm and asks if she's serious, which freaks Ito out and she says it's a joke. Mako also says that if Takayo found out the conditions for his becoming an actor, she'd go crying to his dad and mess things up. Ito thinks about how Takayo knows the Makoto of 7 years ago that Ito doesn't know about, and Mako asks if she's jealous. But right then, the teacher returns, and so Mako and Ito are free to go. Shortly after, Takayo gets up (for she'd been awake the whole time, and heard every word Mako and Ito said), and says that she can't allow this and that she's taking Mako back!

Back at Mako's apartment, Akane is there to speak with Mako and to warn him about Takayo, but Ito and Mako tell her it's too late, for Takayo already came. Akane tells them that Takayo already knows about the whole deal, but that she doesn't know about Mako's apartment cause Akane took the info out of the report (YAY, AKANE!). Mako is surprised (for he doesn't know what she means by "report"), and Akane explains that his dad has people checking up on him, and that he should be careful. Mako comments that that's definitely something his dad would do, and Ito worries that if these people are checking up on Mako, they must know about Ito. Akane calms her down explaining that Ito has been classified as a normal friend. But Akane also comments that it's dangerous having Takayo know about Ito's knowing about Mako's secret, because, although Takayo is a "sweet and obedient girl" (HAH! >.<), she might tell Mako's dad, and then they're all screwed (there's a funny lil pick of a stickfigurish Mako's dad dragging a stick-figurish Mako back to the road of familyness and away from the road of acting). As Mako thanks Akane for her neatness, Ito vows to protect Mako's dream!
