The main characters of W Juliet are, of course, Ito and Makoto! I've included the basics about each of them in this page and some of my thoughts on them. Miura Ito (三浦糸) ·Age: 17 ·Bloodtype: B ·Height: 177 cm. ·Weight: 54 kg. ·Class: 2-5 (Second year, group 5) ·Emura says: Ito is the easiest character for her to draw and has the easiest personality to do too. She also says that she thought "It'd be neat to have a friend like this..." and so she drew her! ·Name Meaning: Mi = three; ura = bay or inlet / Ito = thread or string ·Family:Father, 2 older twin brothers, 1 younger brother. Mother deceased Ito is the main character of the story and she is cool, for she is different from all other (or at least most other) shoujo heroines! For you see, Ito looks like a boy. She has short hair, is way taller than the other girls in her class (and a lot of the boys, including Makoto!), and she's more handsome than most boys in her class. She has many fangirls at school and is the leader of the girls in her class. Ito's definitely the type of girl who can take care of herself and I think this is pretty refreshing to see, since most manga heroines are the sweet, beautiful, defenseless types (not that Ito's ugly or anything! But you know what I mean!). This isn't bad or anything, but I think it's cool to find such a different type of heroine. And so, Ito gets my vote of niftyness! And his personality is also the hardest to write. Emura says she doesn't know what he's thinking either ^_^; She also says she thought "There aren't any guys like this..." as she drew him. ·Name Meaning: Ama = Heaven; No = field / Ma = true; Koto = Japanese harp Nari = to become; Ta = rice paddy / Makoto = true ·Family: Mother, Father, and 3 older sisters Makoto is a very pretty boy. They say he got his looks from his mother and his personality from his father. At any rate, Makoto is very polite and calm and just...all around neat ^_^; He doesn't seem to mind terribly having to crossdress and is very good at it, perhaps because he is already so polite and elegant, so it's not that hard for him (though I don't think anyone's asked him so I guess we can't be sure!). He seems to think it's rather fun! Makoto is also very perceptive (he's the first one to realize that Toki was after Ito, not him). And I just love him muchly!
